"I'm 77. I've been around long enough now.
I've lived a pretty interesting life - not too
much sadness, a lot of happiness, lots of fun.
And I didn't do much of anything I didn't want to do."

Looks like the links have been deleted? And some go to some weird place lix.in??

I need Lee!

Yes folks, looks like the sad and stupid mystery link deleter has followed me here from Chocoreve:
Most of my re-posts have been deleted from Rabid-Shite.
Due to the ease with which Rabid-Shite allow this to be done I am now posting on other free servers. I'm trialing a link protection service called Lix.in - don't know if will throw the sad and stupid mystery file deleter off the scent, but others have been using it... All you need to do is follow their link to get to the original posted files. Depending on which service I use, you may need to enter the password realmofx if asked.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but hopefully it will keep these files available to you all...

Meanwhile I shall re-up the files as quickly as my rather slow internet connection and my available time allows!

Of course if you are one who likes to delete other peoples files and you actually have a motive, I'd really like to hear what that is!

In case you missed that, if you get asked for a password, its:

realmofx

sorry for the inconvenience but hopefully this measure will keep these files available to you all...

Oh man! I just stumbled on this and was SO excited. I've nbever heard the Forty album, or any of the Shackleford's material and learned, alas, the links are dead--files deleted. Thanks, though, for trying. Lee Hazlewood is a favorite, and I can't seem to lay my hands on much of his best work.

Don't worry everyone, have patience!
These files WILL be available again, I'm reposting a few per day.
I haven't had much time for new posts in recent months, but it is my mission to keep extant posts alive or re-animate 'em when some mindless cretin kills them!
So just hang in there, all is not lost...

No... nothing... frig.. it looked so surprising, so interesting, but it slips right thru the fingers... it don't work & i'm really going mad. God, it's a helluva tease...

Michael!
Give me a few minutes and I'll remove the lix.in cover!
Please have a little patience, you will get that file eventually even if it's tomorrow instead...
Have any of my other links failed like this one?

Thank you very much for your kind response! - I've only just discoverd your blog and I did't try other posts yet. You know I've got but 3 Lee H albums ([un]fortunately, you have them too), yet this curious record was THE one that caught my eye at once! - So I got stuck & finally got just mad over it! --- Still I hope I will be able to get it sometime; of course I'll wait ANY time - I deeply respect people doing such fine unselfish job, & what right have I to be importunate?

Also,I hope I'll finally get my own blog sooner or later - have lots of material, but I'm travellin' too much now, hardly ever at home. - Anyway, if I chance to lay my hands on some rare LH, I'll let you know at once.

Meanwhile, while I'm still home, I'll try other LH links. ---- Whatever happens, thank you again!

Michael R, are you saying you still haven't been able to access the file since I removed the lix.in link?
Others have been downloading and I haven't heard of any problems... Axifile can be slow sometimes but after entering the password the link should generate automatically after 20 secs or so. Please tell me you got it!

Yep bingo! it finally yielded - but not after another 15-20 whacks: I guess it must've formed a kind of hallucinated bug-loop over my IP that went on&on for some time more.

Now it's ok finally, it's morning here again already, but I can go & have a nap with a peaceful mind, at last. - Yeah, and I've alredy listened twice to that CRUSH BAND - it's a real fun!!!

THANX, but no thank to that Axiffffile - I'll remember it long...

Hi,

Here's 90% of Did You ever, maskes as Nancy & Lee Again. Only difference is the tracklisting. The track Paris Summer is missing due to licensing-problems or something. Got it from eMusic.

I've got serious problems with your
lix.in links. Have tried 3 different browsers to no awail. This oxedion site just keeps counting me down, when I click dl nothing happens. Could you please try another service for 20th Century Lee, 40 and Love....?
Please.

I've re-upped those files.
I'll give sharebee.com a try, it looks like a useful service.
There are so many file hosters but there seem to be issues with many of them...

Thanks also for Nancy & Lee Again!

Here's a curio: Lee duetting with Norwegian/Swedish singer Elisabeth Andreassen on the classic "Jackson", from Andreassen's CD "Short Stories" from 2005. Only released in Norway and possibly also Sweden.

I've got the "Movin' On"-album in MP3 (and vinyl as well). It's in 128 kbps... I am too looking for "A house safe for tigers" and "I'll be your baby tonight", both MP3 and vinyl. Hard to find and expensive when you find them...

yes THANKS SO MUCH Heenrik!
sorry - response has been slow due to the rest of my life...

you can really hear the music sliding deeper into kitsch as the recording dates progress deeper into the 70s. Not surprising that some of these titles are OOP but I still imagine there must be enough interest in the man's music to justify re-releasing all these titles...

Is it ok with you if I post this directly so more people realise it's there?

This is an awesome effort. It is so hard to find any of this stuff. Lee's version of Indian Summer on 20th Century Lee is phenomenal. The album Love and Other Crimes is an unsung masterpiece. Thanks heaps.

yes yes. this site is/ you are so amazingly generous. My harddrive crashed, I lost everything Lee, and here it is to recover -- with new albums, rarer albums, to boot. Is there anyway you can relink to "Fourty"?
THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!

I'm away for several weeks and don't have the Forty files with me. As soon as I get back to my backup drive I'll re-post this and any other links that are down.

While new posts are thin on the ground these days, I'm still dedicated to keeping the good stuff available as best I can.

So if you want instant gratification you’ll have to look elsewhere.

Otherwise, come back at the end of August and Forty should once more be available...

I'd just like to say a huge thank you to Benito, Henrik & all the other folk who've made the superb music on this site available. I'm a relative newcomer to LH but am a fanatic already. Can anyone out there recommend to me a thorough & informative Lee/LHI discography?
I just visited the SLR site, which features a great pic of Lee hard at work on the barbecue!
